GRAND BANKS ELECTRONICS INSTALLATION

Picking the right cache of electronics is critical for every boating enthusiast.  Selecting the appropriate units best suited for your purpose and efficient placement at the helm are decisions which must be well researched.  This 1985 Grand Banks 42 Classic is receiving an integrated electronics system update to include computer based and traditional, but modern, interfaced electronics in a variety of console displays, some of which can be hidden from sight when not in use.

Flybridge electronics removal created another repair challenge.

NOTE the hole forward of gear controls.  The solution will include a major enhancement.

Remember the hole remaining when old electronics were removed?  The craftsmen have re-engineered the flybridge opening to accommodate a new console.

At the carpentry center, the new flybridge console begins to take shape - matched perfectly to the instruments.

The popular Marlow "disappearing" electronics console is prepared for mounting at the flybridge helm.

When complete, the bridge displays everything for easy viewing.  A touch of a button will raise or lower the console to eliminate glare.

Or, recess instruments completely out of sight for an unobstructed view of the waterway.

The final array down below.  Note the Ocean PC monitor to the left.  It's mounted on the underside of a chart locker.  Now you see it........

Now you don't!

Along with the installation of the new modules, there is a lot of rewiring, patching holes from antennae and transducers no longer needed and final painting and varnishing of the reworked areas. It is a complex job but one that we are very experienced at and will produce a final product that looks as good as or better than factory installed.
