Congratulations and Enjoy!!

Congratulations to Lou Petrosino, aboard his 1983 Grand Banks 42 SOUTHERLY.Lou plans to winter in St Simons, GA and then follow the geese north to Stony Point on the Hudson River in New York next spring.  After a summer of learning the ways of the Grand Banks 42, Lou hopes to head south again and begin a trip around the Caribbean starting with Mexico and Central America, then South America and finally the Caribbean Islands we all dream about.

Mark Wojnar takes delivery of Turtle Chaser!  Mark resides in  East Sandwich, Massachusetts and has a lot of business on Florida's East Coast.  He will be keeping his Grand Banks in Florida and plans many trips to the Bahamas. He also may buy a larger boat so as to have one in the North East and one down in the south. Not a bad plan!

Martin and Deanna Allen aboard "Steamboat", are ready to set off on their cruising adveture after closing on this beautiful Marlow Explorer in September.  We wish them many great adventures aboard and look forward to hearing them all!

Bill McInnes of Nashville, Tennessee, takes a break on the transom of his new Marlow Explorer, 78E, "Hope Floats".  bill was kind enough to let us show "Hop Floats" in the Miami Boat Show this year and after a brief commissioning phase at Marlow marine, intrepid Bill and his crew embarked on a shakedown cruise to St. Bart's and back, roughly 2,800 miles.  He then joined us at the Marlow Marine Spring Rendezvous in early April at Useppa Island.  This summer, Bill anticipates staging "Hope Floats" on the East Coast and doing some relaxed cruising and sightseeing.

A beautiful blue hull Marlow Explorer 70E was delivered to its owners, the Virtues, and their golden retriever, Daley, in mid January, 2007. "Karli Won" attended the Marlow Marine 2007 Rendezvous at Useppa Island in early April, and will be cruising the Bahamas and East Coast throughout the summer, with plans to head to the Virgin Islands in the fall or winter.

On April 18th, Buz and Pat McCall of Boca Raton, Florida, took delivery of their Marlow Explorer 72E-CB, "Angela Marin".  The "Angela Marin" (named after their granddaughter) translates in French to "Angel of the Sea".  The McCall's departed Snead island headed for her home port, Boca Raton's Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club.  A short first day run to Venice followed by a solid 10 hours run to Ocean Reef confirmed what Buz and his son, Brad, had hoped for - power to spare.  the McCall's hosted a christening ceremony upon arrival at the Royal Palm Yacht Club and Buz and Pat welcome any Marlow friends to come by and show her off to possible new buyers or current owners that want to see a real Angel of the Sea!

Named after the maiden name of the wife of Stan Edwards of Sydney Australia, Stan Edwards is a very capable yachtsman, justly well know for his competitive and winning spirit in Grand Prix Offshore sailing yacht racing.  David Marlow first saw Stan in the mid 1980s at Hobart, Tasmania, where he had just completed a grueling Sydney-Hobart race on board the latest version of Margaret Rintoul, the sailing yacht. David Marlow would not see him again for twenty five years, with the venue in 2006, at the Norsemen facility in Chi Hu village, China. Though they were not in contact and did not know one another  beyond possibly vague memory, they royally celebrated Stan's purchase of the 70E that was to become his first power yacht to be graced with the name Margaret Rintoul at Marlow Norsemen's VIP Center, in company with Pat and Bob Hunter of Portland Oregon, purchaser of hull # 57-12 CB. Bob and Pat are transplants from England and worthy competitors for the title of champion of Bottoms Up.

It is a point of pride that Stan has chosen our yacht for his voyaging in the often turbulent waters of Australia, Tasmania, Fiji or wherever his imagination may take him on board this sturdy yet lovely vessel.  In the photograph she is anchored under the slopes of America's Bay, Pittwater Bay, New South Wales. It seems appropriate.

Margaret Rintoul is hull #70-26 of the Marlow Explorer 70E version.

Wild Goose in the Air

A  ME 65C was just recently delivered in Sidney, BC. We picked her up in Victoria, BC and cruised about 2 hours north to Sidney to make her ready for the new owners who live in the North West. This was quite a change from our normal routine of picking up the yachts in the Port of Miami and bringing them to our yard near Tampa Bay for "make ready" but everything worked out fine. This yacht has quite a few very special custom features. The hand made high-low table in the salon has a nautilus shell of several different woods inlaid in the teak table with a very intricate border design - just beautiful.

Wild Goose will cruise in the fabulous waters of the Straights of Juan de Fuca and Puget Sound.

Marlow Explorer 70

This is our first Marlow Explorer with the Euro Transom and hardtop and the combination of the two create a very sleek, low-profile, handsome yacht. The performance of this ME 70 Euro on the trip home from the Port of Miami was flawless and impressive. The yacht will be made ready for the new owners who will take her to Maryland.
